Top 10 Five-Star and Boutique Hotels in Sri Lanka: A Luxury Guide

I had the pleasure of visiting Sri Lanka for the first time last month on an educational trip, spending 10 days exploring the best luxury hotels in Sri Lanka, from 5-star hotels in Colombo to remote luxury safari lodges. I was thoroughly charmed! I’d previously heard descriptions of Sri Lanka as a cross between India and Thailand; as the most chilled out part of the sub-continent; and a place to discover the world’s best tea. And I truly felt each of these interpretations come to life.

I want to share what hotels and resorts I personally discovered, plus recommendations from those who live locally and work in travel. A massive thank you to the amazing The Fabulous Getaway for hosting me! If you’re looking for a curated and personalised itinerary in Sri Lanka, including highlights such as a trip on one of their famous trains, the achievement of climbing to the top of Sigiriya Rock, or the surfing spots of the eastern coast, reach out, and I’ll connect you.

Ready to start planning your Sri Lankan holiday? Here’s a curated list of the top 10 five-star and boutique hotels in Sri Lanka that I think will help make your trip both authentic and luxurious. I might be biased to Uga because of my own experiences, but if you look at others’ reviews you’ll find out exactly why!
